Australian Designer To Watch: Ephemeral Reverie

Australia has produced so many talented designers, that it’s often hard to keep up with the new wave of designers who will be the future of Australian fashion.  This feature will aim to focus on non-mainstream designers, who have the ability to forge successful careers in the fashion world with their creative designs.

Today’s focus is on Ephemeral Reverie, designed by Sarah Mok from the University of Technology in NSW.

Recently featuring at the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival National Graduate Showcase, Mok’s collection, although not possessing the ready-to-wear ability of other designers showcased that night, shows an amazing level of detail which focuses on the sculptural and artistic approach to fashion.  The 3D organza designs presented a juxta-position of elements, hard vs soft and fluidity vs structured.

With it becoming increasingly difficult to stand out in a sea of designers, I think Mok has achieved individuality with her designs and is definitely someone to watch in the future.
