Désir du jour - Pamela Usanto

Melbourne designer Pamela Usanto's feminine ready-to-wear line contrasts but compliments her dramatic couture collection, showing the versatility of this talented designer.

Inspired by 1600s French paintings and 1950s fashion, Usanto's use of lace and beading add to the romantic feel of her carefully tailored ready-to-wear pieces. In her short career, Usanto has already released two ready-to-wear collections, both featuring delicate, classic designs which can be easily incorporated into any woman's wardrobe.

Usanto's Black Diamond Couture Collection released earlier this month, maintains the romantic element of her ready-to-wear line, and combines it with an elegant darkness.  The dramatic wedding dresses have a graceful silhouette which highlights the impeccable tailoring of Usanto's pieces.

The sleek silhouette of the La Contessa Beaded Silk dress from Usanto's Black Diamond Couture Collection caught my eye. The detailed beading around the neckline adds a creative element to the classic tailoring which is designed to flatter a woman's figure. If you are interested in this design or any other pieces in Usanto's couture collection, contact Pamela Usanto on She will tailor your chosen dress to fit you.

Stayed tuned for an interview with the lovely Pamela Usanto as she tells us about her label and experiences in the fashion industry.
